‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Stars Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby End Their Relationship

Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby, notable contestants from the eighth season of ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise,” have decided to part ways after initially finding love on the popular dating show.

Michael Allio, who originally appeared on Katie Thurston’s season of “The Bachelorette” in 2020, made the announcement during a recent guest appearance on the Trading Secrets podcast hosted by Jason Tartick.

Allio revealed that the breakup was still quite fresh, saying, “I guess I’ll just come out with it: We’re not together anymore. It’s not what we planned.

We both threw a lot into this relationship, and it’s really awful when it doesn’t work out.” He went on to express his respect and admiration for Maltby, acknowledging the emotional difficulty of realizing that despite their love, they were not compatible.

Allio also mentioned that they are currently navigating their post-relationship phase and trying to remain close, despite the challenges of the past few months.

As of now, Danielle Maltby has not publicly commented on the status of their relationship.

Allio and Maltby’s romance blossomed during the eighth season of “Bachelor in Paradise,” which concluded in November.

Their connection was strengthened by their shared experiences of personal tragedy, with Allio having lost his wife, Laura, to cancer in 2019 and raising their son, James, on his own, while Maltby’s fiancé tragically died by suicide in 2011.

In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter following the season eight finale, the couple had shared their perspective on not rushing into an engagement.

Allio mentioned that they didn’t feel pressured by external timelines and preferred to go at their own pace, focusing on building their relationship and creating cherished memories together.
